Hello,

I noticed an issue with Showtec Compact Par 7 Tri fixture. This fixture is designed with 7 tri-color LED. Beam shape looks like a projection of 7 very narrow beams. It is not a spot but 40° wash. These 7 beams should be mixed together (look at attached picture), unless you use this fixture at <1m.

I noticed four variants in L8 database:

  • 321: Showtec Compact Par 7 Tri (3ch)
  • 339: Showtec Compact Par 7 Tri (4ch)
  • 477: Showtec Compact Par 7 Tri (8ch)
  • 2547: Showtec Compact Par 7 Tri (8ch)

Why two times (8ch) fixture? They look like identical.

I also checked all parameters:

  • 3D shape/size: OK
  • 2D icon: OK
  • Lens: OK
  • Beam angle: NOK
  • Illuminance: NOK
  • DMX channels: NOK

Beam angle

As written above, beam shapes of each LED should be more merged together. In addition, beam angle of this fixture is specified at 40° and not 46°.

Illuminance

L8 max lux information:

    [*494] @2m
    [*220] @3m
    [*79] @5m
    [*55] @6m
    [*20] @10m
    [*5] @20m

If you look at user manual, page 21, you can get illuminance at 2m: 2002 lx and luminous flux: 1540 lm.

How did you define luminous flux at 448 lm? Can you please increase it?

DMX Channels

As written in my post related to American DJ Mega Bar LED, for all variants, I noticed a strange things, when looking at color channels, color faders are not set to 100%, but to 95% (red), 90% (green) and 85% (blue). But I also see that 100% button is clicked. Is it a mistake?

4ch/8ch variants: dimmer channel is written in russian. Could it be changed to english?

Can you please have a look at these fixtures?

It is also related to same urgent customer request (see my post about Stairville RevueLED 120 COB DMX). It means, if possible for you, it would be so useful to me to get it also by the end of this week. Thank you in advance for your precious help!

Illuminance and DMX issues have been fixed for three fixtures only:

  • 321: Showtec Compact Par 7 Tri (3ch): OK
  • 339: Showtec Compact Par 7 Tri (4ch): OK
  • 477: Showtec Compact Par 7 Tri (8ch): OK
  • 2547: Showtec Compact Par 7 Tri (8ch): NOK

I am wondering why fixture #2547 remains unchanged!? Could it be a copy I made, which does not exist for other users? How to check it?

What about beam shape? Is there a way to merge these 7 individual beams in a more realistic way, like you can see on previously posted picture?

2547: Showtec Compact Par 7 Tri (8ch): NOK

This driver is not in the library. Perhaps you copied it yourself. Delete it! When we make a driver for this number but you will not update.

OK. But what about beam shape? Should I add frost? Why not making it closer to reality by default?
