Hi Dmitry
Hi All

I'm programming a show via Art-Net which required 9 universes.
Seems that LC is not able to handle the stream of more than 8 Universes.
The 9th universe is not "fluid" in receiving stream data and it "glitch" by losing on-off the data itself.
I double check the problem to understand if could be a console problem or opposite.
I discover that whatever is the universe ID number within same subnet, the LC does not perform properly the 9th universe and subsequents where the glitches become worst and worst.
I tested this with an external computer (not with the desk) sending cycling data at various rate ( I use the Artistic Licence - DMX Workshop test program).

The show which I'm programming has only lights and not any other videos or data stream in but Art-net from console.

After this I can assume the problem can be because two reason:
-LC is unable to "eat" fluently more than 8 universe
-My computer hardware where LC run is not able to handle such data.

My system run a Win 7 - 64Bit Pro
CPU Intel i7 - 2,93 GhZ
8 GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480

Anyone can help please?
Thanx alot for support and understanding

Hi Aldo.
I think you have some sort of network problems, because LC is basically tested well on 96 universes, 44 FPS each.

Which console did you used, and how your network was organised?

ADD: DMX-workshop's experiments with network load is not good idea. This is simple app. for diagnostic only. Use a real console(s) instead, if you need to properly test LC throughput.

HI Dmitry

I believe LC works fine with all 96 universes.
I found the problem by using my Jands Vista console.
wich can output up to16 dmx universes via Art-net

I double check the console output thru an external PC "reader"
form Artistic Licence and Luminet Monitor just to verify the stream.
The console stream seems OK., while In the same time the LC wash glitching
At the present I'm using a simple Network switch between
Console and LC Computer.

Any other suggested tests to do?
I haven't try to connect the desk direct to LC via cross cable...

Please advice! :(

Thanx

Hi Aldo.
Can you check the FPS rate that LC shown in DMX monitor?
I'm interested for 1 universe rate, 4 universes rate and 8 universes rate.

Just to note that if Vista sent unicast packets - they will disappear on PC after receiving with any PC-monitor application. So please do all experiments without other software.

I'll do the same tomorrow and let you know.
Thanks!

Have a look of 32 universes test for LIGHTCONVERSE Unlimited:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeg-4UA2MkE
Code:
LIGHTCONVERSE testing for 32 universes load. One PC with LIGHTCONVERSE Unlimited in Onboard Control mode and another one PC with LIGHTCONVERSE Unlimited in Visualization Only mode.
There is a Phase-Shift between Fixtures to show that each Universe is unique. 1 Gigabit network was loaded on about 0.7%.

It is v51 however.
