Right now it appears all files used by LC must be in the LC folder.
If a user builds custom venues, shows, light rigs, objects etc. they are saved in the LC folder.
With new version release I now have to move or copy all the files I want to use into the new versions folder.
I don't want to have to do this everytume a new release comes out.
I want to be able to save files in folders other than the LC folder and also be able to open/import files from whereever I choose.
Please make this possible soon.
Also... Will there be some documentation coming soon for V40? I see there are some new features but I haven't figured out how they work, and I'm guessing there is even more than what I can see.

Every time a new release comes out, you have two choises: 1. Backup old folder, install new version to the old folder and you will have all your stuff available. 2. Download lc.zip and overwrite core-files only. The library items are not upgraded in this case.
LIGHTCONVERSE will always save the data inside the root folder. This is due to the fact that all stuff that you do, you do based on the library items (fixtures, furnitures, textures, color, gobos, etc.), and it can't exist without them.
All project configuration files you can find in \Database_BASENAME\ folder. There is 1000 databases available. If this is not enough, let us know.
All custom-made 3D library items (export .3dl, .dxf, .x) you will save in any subfolder inside the \Furniture\ folder. There is no limitation on subfolders and files count.
You can ask here on forum any questions that you have. There is also some educational videos in download section available.
And dear beambot, please fill your profile with information about your dongle license. Thank you.

Hi, I am currently working on the updated manual for v40 and it will be done ASAP. In the meantime, as Dmitriy mentioned, please ask any questions you may have on the forum as the more user input we get, the better the manual can be.
