Hi all!

Hope everyone is staying in good spirits!!

I have a quick question, well, maybe not so quick...

A group of us are going to try and livestream virtual clubnights. Basically a DJ will send us video and audio. Using L8's NDI in we can take the video source and put it on a screen inside the 'club' then I will use my Titan Mobile to flash lights to the music. We then take the audio and an NDI screen grab from second screen (showing L8 3D) onto a seperate laptop that we are using OBS to stream to Youtube and FB.

I'm not particularly stream savvy, so its a work in progress. Just a nice thought that we could maybe bring a club into peoples lives without any of us having to actually go there.

Anyway, we were wondering if there was a way of taking NDI out of a virtual camera source in L8. By running two screens it is slowing down the GPU (can't seem to get NDI to grab the main screen) and we are hoping that we could just reference camera sources. Then use dmx control to really play around with mixing different shots. Perhaps.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks!

Jazz

You can use "GeForce Experience" to stream your 3D. Virtual camera not needed.

Hey,

Ok! Through NDI? I am but a lowly lighting technician pretending to know what I'm doing in the virtual world!!

Thank you so much for your quick reply

Yep, had a little look.

So effectively this takes the screen, rather than having to plug a second one in. It should also see the system audio. Hopefully the quality is good.

Will give it a bash!

Thanks!

Hi again,

I've been researching this further and I don't think it will be possible within my setup.

It is likely to put huge strain on my laptop. I just don't think it will work.

My intention was to stream using OBS from my laptop and have L8 running on a colleagues desktop which isn't Nvidia. Get them talking on a network using NDI. I still have to get the audio and video stream from the DJ as well. I'm using Avolites Titan Mobile on a separate machine, but when you add all of it together its a lot of processing power required.

That's why we were wondering if L8 had the capacity to send video out? Then maybe even the NDI virtual input app could read it?

Any help to make things smoother would be greatly appreciated!

Jazz
